The success of the Rick Hansen Institute depends on participation of people and organizations from across Canada. If SCI is part of your life in any way, please think about getting involved with the Institute. Consider yourself invited if you're:
- a person with SCI, or a friend or relative of someone with SCI
- a health professional who works with people with SCI
- a person who provides professional care or other services to people with SCI
- a researcher working in the SCI field
- a person working in a government program that assists people with SCI
- anyone interested in creating more opportunities for people with SCI.
How can you get involved?
- Sign up for Solutions, our free magazine (in Canada only) which is published quarterly and highlights the work being done by the Rick Hansen Institute to minimize disability and maximize the quality of life of Canadians with SCI. When you sign up for Solutions, you'll also receive our bi-monthly electronic bulletin with updates about the Institute's work and other SCI breakthroughs.
- Take part in Wheels In Motion. This annual fundraising event, coordinated by the Rick Hansen Foundation, continues to gain momentum and has a tremendous impact throughout Canada. Funds generated by WIM are returned to event communities via the Rick Hansen Institute to help provide customized solutions to people with SCI and SCI-related organizations. You can take part as a participant or an event organizer.
- Volunteer at the provincial or community level. Lend your expertise as a member of a board or committee at the local, provincial or national level. Be part of the solution.
- Learn more about or become involved with important research trials.
- Make a donation (coming soon).
