The Rick Hansen SCI Registry is led by Dr. Marcel Dvorak, Medical Director, with daily operations overseen by Catherine McGuinness, Managing Director.

Dr. Dvorak is Associate Professor and Head of the Academic Division of Spine, Department of Orthopaedics, University of British Columbia. Dr. Dvorak is also the Medical Director of the Combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spine Program (CNOSP) at Vancouver General Hospital. His teaching efforts have focused on the education of spine surgeons in advanced spinal surgical decision-making and techniques. He is currently a co-chair of the Spine Trauma Study Group. Dr. Dvorak has had a long-term interest in collecting observational data in order to better understand the value of healthcare interventions using validated and quantitative outcomes measures, and the creation of RHSCIR is due in large part to his vision.

Catherine McGuinness, BSc., oversees all operational activities of RHSCIR. Catherine has more than 20 years experience working in the life science sector. She is an experienced project manager with specific expertise in basic science research and development, quality assurance, data management, information technologies, product development, and sales and marketing.
