There is uniform national consensus that the MAGNITUDE and EFFECTIVENESS of the national lobby for SCI health policy change is currently insufficient and ineffective. Strategic investment in a group responsible for facilitating changes in policy is viewed as a PRESSING priority to facilitate changes in practice. is viewed as a strategic first step toward eliminating regional disparity in service provision. Interprofessional models of care with appropriate ratios of credentialed clinicians with SCI SPECIALTY training are needed to address the gaps between the complex care needs of individuals with SCI, available services and the lag time between knowledge generation and practice implementation.
